This isn’t the same Donald Trump who took the oath in January 2017. A quirk of the calendar means the stock market is closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Stocks had a great run during Trump’s first term–the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 56%, the S&P 500 rose 67%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite jumped 138%.
