NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Thursday’s session.
Pokarna Ltd.(up 9.81%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 8.04%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 6.06%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 4.56%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 3.38%), NMDC Ltd.(up 3.03%), MOIL Ltd.(up 2.92%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.75%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.70%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 2.27%) stood among the top gainers.
Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.48%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 201.06 points up at 22821.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 692.27 points at 75074.51.
HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 4.01%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 4.0%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 3.8%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 3.66%), State Bank of India(up 3.45%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.08%), Infosys Ltd.(up 2.95%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.7%), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.57%) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 2.38%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 2.56%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 2.2%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 2.05%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.93%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.54%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.5%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.34%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.33%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.2%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.15%) closed in the red.
