The Morning Bull – US Market Morning Update Wednesday, Sep, 2 2026
US stock futures are pointing lower this morning, with E-mini S&P 500 contracts down about 0.5%. The key pressure is coming from a broad selloff in global stocks as investors react to rising government bond yields, including euro area and UK 10 year benchmarks, where inflation concerns are lifting expected interest rates. At the same time, global manufacturing scorecards such as the euro area PMI at 52.7 and Germany at 54.3 show factory activity improving, which supports growth but also keeps central banks cautious on rate cuts. The big question for investors is whether higher borrowing costs will hit rate sensitive areas like real estate and utilities more than they support economically sensitive sectors such as industrials and exporters.
With bond yields climbing and borrowing costs biting, it can pay to focus on sturdier balance sheets using the list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals (53 results).
