Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:04AM

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 4.98%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 1.53%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.27%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.15%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.15%) were among the top gainers.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.51%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 1.45%), MOIL Ltd.(down 1.10%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 1.02%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.91%), NMDC Ltd.(down 0.56%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.24%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.03%) and 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 5.25 points up at 25466.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 6.86 points at 83439.75 at around 10:04AM.

Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 2.08%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.23%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.09%), NTPC Ltd.(up 0.81%), ITC Ltd.(up 0.7%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.69%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 0.69%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.63%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 0.59%) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.56%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.72%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.06%), Eternal Ltd.(down 0.92%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.8%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.78%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.72%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.69%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.65%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.64%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.6%) were trading in the red.
